Family of cars, produced at "Izhmash-Auto" SOJSC, includes the passenger cars, vans and estate cars, unified by the power plant, front suspension, steering and body front part.

The range of passenger cars is presented by the models with the hatch-back body (IZH-2126 and its modifications). The IZH 27171 (pick-up and its modifications), IZH 2717 (van and its modifications) make up a series of vans.

The estate car IZH 27172 and its modifications are in the process of pre-production.

Design of the whole family of cars is based on the advanced approaches, i.e.: the front Macpherson strut suspension, the front disk brakes with "floating" caliper, the aluminium rear brake drums, the diagonally split brake control, the negative steering offset, the rack-and-gear steering, the electrical control of headlamps, the body conformity seat and the modern appearance.

As to the load-carrying capacity, freight compartment volume and freight platform area all modifications f IZH van confirm to the best world standards.

The IZH 2126 car is intended for carrying five persons and cargo, not exceeding 50 kg. The car body is all-metal, unitized, fivedoor one of a hatch-back type.
The car front suspension is independent, spring one of a Macpherson type, the rear suspension is a rigid-axle, spring one with a rod-type guiding device and telescopic two-way hydraulic shock absorbers. The five-speed gearbox. The rear seat may be converted into the cargo or van compartments. It enlarges the car service, functional capabilities and makes it possible to transport long cut and large-size loads. Front wheel brakes are of disk-type, with a separated hydraulic system, twin-chamber master cylinder and vacuum booster.

For convenience in handling lateral and rear sides of the IZH27171 car cargo com-partment are hinged. The design of hinged sides provides installation of the remov-able hlastic hood. It makes possible to convert the car into cargo model with the van-type body. Special bows for stretching the canopy may be mounted. The rear suspension of the IZH2717 and IZH27171 cars is provided with longitudinal semielliptic springs. Technical, dynamic, in-use performance of the IZH 2126, IZH2717 and IZH27171 cars and their comfort in riding meet the requirements of home and foreign standards for the cars of the given class.
